Критика судьи с этой выставки (описываются собаки, получившие первые и вторые места в каждом классе):

CRUFTS DOG SHOW – POMERANIANS – Judge: Miss Astrid Ogilvie

It was a great honour to be invited to judge at the world’s most prestigious dog show and I looked forward to it for so long and was not disappointed. I loved every minute of my day. Thanks to all the exhibitors for my entry of 149 dogs and also to my two lady stewards who kept me on my toes. Having been passionately involved in the breed for 45 years, I feel it is useful for experienced judges to give an overall view on the breed as our critiques on 1, 2 and 3 are hopefully on good examples and only by making observations about the breed in general can a more accurate picture of the breed be painted. I found soundness in movement and temperament to be good on the whole and only 2 bad mouths on the day. For me, no matter how correct a Pom is in confirmation and with a perfect mouth, if it lacks breed type then it is not for me. I do not want our beloved breed to become a “generic spitz” with a head like a fox. This is something I care passionately about and this years judges – 16 All-rounders and only 9 breed specialists, is by no means good for the breed as All-rounders (not all but in the main) only seem to remember one word in our breed standard – FOXY – head and nose foxy in outline – not head like a fox! Please take note, also please let them remember that in our breed the dog is always smaller than the bitch, it should not be the other way round, EVER! I enjoyed the opportunity to handle the overseas dogs and this only happens at Crufts. Some I loved but they had no top-coat having been trimmed down to the under coat, with the dog’s head being a completely different colour to the body – you know who you are! Such a shame!

VD (1)
1. Odd‘s CH. BENLEASE BARNEY RUBBLE Sh.CM. Stood alone, at 8½ + he just keeps getting better with age. In superb show condition, properly presented, classical head, he could show some of the youngsters how to move, carries himself beautifully, covering the ground with ease, great show attitude at all times.

MPD – Sadly no entries.

PD (7,0)
1. Fleetwood‘s ABBEYLEIGH SMARTY POM. Just over 9 months w/sable, lovely size, pretty head with a good stop, neat ears, good mouth, correct bone, good cat feet, lovely shape in stance, very attentive to handler for such a youngster, very promising. BPD.
2. Stewart‘s EARNPRIDE LET’S DANCE. 11 moths orange, well balanced overall, pleasing head, good pigment, good harsh coat, well presented. Moved true and performed well even with a new handler on the day.
3. Cawthera-Purdy‘s BELLIVER SURELY NOT BLACK AT LIREVA. 10 months, lovely size and breed type, just wasn’t happy on the day.

JD (12,6)
1. Orchard & Whitlock‘s MANATEK ICE SO SEKSY. 15 mths orange with just the sweetest head and expression with good stop (sadly lacking these days), tail carried well on his back, can stand a shade long at times which spoils his outline, very full of himself on the move, just how a Pom should be.
2. Emelyanova‘s VICTORY’S FLAME LUXURY MAN. Russian dog, 15 mths orange, with a very smart overall appearance, correct bone, up on his toes at all times, well presented but not over-trimmed, carried himself well. I really like this chap so this was a hard decision between 1 and 2.
3. Johnstone‘s CAIRNPAPPLE’S SURPRISE. 16 mths o/s, nice size, with a pleasing head, moved and showed well.

YD (9,2)
1. Pickering‘s LEAHCARTOY’S LORD FRED. 19 brilliant orange with the most beautiful head and expression, good stop, an easy winner due to true breed type, presents a lovely picture in stance, good tail set and carries himself well, great coat texture and well presented. Attentive and alert at all times.
2. Jacobsen‘s FINCH’S THE HULK.(USA) 20 mths orange, very attractive head and expression, in good coat in that he had top coat left on! Tail set could be tighter, moved in true Pom style and deserved his place.
3. Simmons‘ ELMWAY ELEGANT EMPEROR BY PETITPOM JW. 23 mths w/sable, pleasing head, not in the best of coats today, moved out well and was very attentive to his handler.

PGD (16,2)
1. Adamson‘s SYLVIDS THISTLE DO JW Sh.CM. 2½ light orange, won a strong class. Pleasing head and expression, small ears sitting in just enough of a ruff round his head, presents a lovely outline in stance and carries himself well. He is 100% sound and never put a foot wrong on the day.
2. D’Arcy & Duffield‘s PAAVALI’S SNOW STORM. 2 years white, very much my type, beautiful head, good stop, super pigment, ears hidden in a wealth of coat though, a bit soft today. Not as compact as first but a very pleasing chap who oozes breed type.
3. Hilliker‘s SUNVELT TAVISTOCK. 2¼ years w/sable, is very much my type, but not on form today.

Crufts – Pomeranians - 2

LD (10,0)
1. Odd & Holman‘s KAMIS MYSTICAL LEGEND OF BROOKLYN AT ALTINA (Imp Rus). 1 year 9 months red sable who has to be handled to be appreciated, not the most attractive colour but a good dog is never a bad colour. Although an import, he is very British in type, correct bone, tight feet, and is literally on his toes at all times, his head thrown back in stance presenting a lovely picture, he has the prettiest head. I could feel myself smile as I went over him on the table, he didn’t disappoint in any way. In superb coat, beautifully and correctly presented to our standard, moves with true Pom aplomb. I was very happy to award him the Dog CC, his second at only his second championship show in the UK. I am sure he will have a very successful career for a long time to come.
2. Holman‘s POMSTYLE YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO GOOD AT POMMANIA (Imp Rus). Brilliant orange of 5 years, another beautiful import. Lovely type, bigger overall than first but nonetheless a very nice type of Pom, moved out very well. This was a very strong class so certainly not disgraced by being second to his outstanding kennel mate.
3. Smith‘s WISHINGATE DARK SECRET. 3½ black with a typey head, small ears, in excellent order and is sound in every respect, again has to be handled to be appreciated.

OD (23,6) Without doubt the finest class of Poms I have ever judged. Definitely Wow factor when I turned round to see them all.
1. Lemtun & Kaald‘s N UCH/SE UCH/ DKCK ALPHA LYRAES BE MY LOVER (Nor). Small cream 3 y-o who just blew me away on sight, has the sweetest of heads with good stop, framed by a wealth of coat of correct texture and well presented with a finish of coat. He is a lovely shape and size, and moved as a Pom should do. I had to literally split hairs between him and my eventual CC winner, showmanship was the decider in a split moment. Thank you for bringing this beautiful dog. I learned afterwards that he is sired by a Belliver dog. Reserve Dog CC.
2. Nilsson‘s SW CH CALLEVYS EMPIRE. At 3 years 9 mths this stunning red sable dog is all male but pretty with it. He has an absolutely stunning headpiece set in a wealth of coat of correct texture, beautifully presented with a finish of coat, he stands on the tightest cat feet. Four square at all times, presenting a lovely shape, he commands your attention. He moves so well covering the ground with ease, with true Pom enthusiasm, truly a beautiful dog. I am sure his owner must be very proud of him. Again thank you for bringing him for me to judge.
3. Orchard & Whitelock‘s CH SOFFIES DARK SHADOW. 2½ years black imported from Denmark, such a sweet head on this little chap, he was a delight to handle, a lovely size and shape and so sound overall, you should be proud to own him, a truly lovely black.
4. Terry‘s CH/IRCH BELLIVER UNEXPECTED TARGET. He looked lovely on the day and thoroughly deserved his place in this class.

GCD (3,0)
1. Hills‘ CASAROW’S MONTY PYTHON JW Sh.CM. 3 years o/sable in good order, pleasing head and in good coat, he moved well and won here with ease.
2. Simmons‘ ELMWAY ELEGANT EMPEROR BY PETITPOM JW. 3rd in Yearling Dog
3. Brooks‘ ALTINAS KENTUCKY BOURBON. At 5 years he showed and moved well.

VB (2,1)
1. Carrol & Newman‘s CH/IRCH BELLIVER THE ULTIMATE CREATION. 7 years and 3 mths, delighted to see her come into the class in full bloom and looking and performing like a 2-year-old. No secret I love this girl as I gave her the CC at UK Toy 5 years ago, she just gets better and better. She is a pleasure to go over on the table and with a full mouth of clean teeth! She has a beautiful headpiece with a good stop, well set small ears lost in a profuse coat of correct texture. She is a good size for a top-winning bitch, and so well balanced, her movement is a joy to watch, so it came as no surprise to me that she was still my star and took Bitch CC and Best of Breed over the very young male. Obviously a close decision but a naughty spin from her did it for me in the Challenge for Best of Breed. I was absolutely thrilled to learn a few hours later she had taken Group 2 under Stephen Bardwell, so well deserved and made my day!

MPB (3) All present and all 3 at top end of Minor Puppy at 9 mths.
1. Smith‘s SUEACRES UNEXPECTED RUBY. This little red bitch won easily on the day. Lovely head, good mouth but baby teeth need to go! Sufficient for size, hope she grows on, over all a tidy youngster. She moved confidently round the big ring.
2. James‘ SHELKOVY NOS UNIQUE LAND SWOUT WOLF AT ANGELROCK. (Russian). W/sable, although much the same age she is much more mature-looking in every respect, coat in excellent order, pleasing type but a little round in eye. She is a good size and is very sound on the move.
3. Simmons‘ SUEACRES TAKEN BY STORM FOR PETTIPOM.

PB (16,2)
1. Van Den Burgt‘s NORVANIK MAKIN WOOPEE. 10 mths jet black girl who was my Best Puppy in Breed. Strangely enough I gave her dam the same award at UK Toy 5 years ago. In super coat of best texture, beautifully presented and handled. She has a pretty head and lovely mouth, correct bone and cat feet, she is well proportioned and moves as her construction suggests but with sheer enthusiasm as a Pom should. Congratulations.
2. Davey‘s KLASSNA BABY BLONDE. 9½ small orange with the prettiest of heads with good stop, in lovely coat and plenty of it. She is a lovely shape in stance and moved out well.
3. Smith‘s SUEACRES UNEXPECTED RUBY.
Crufts – Pomeranians - 3

JB (11,3)
1. Lewis & Stone‘s BOWLOU PIPPA AT BILIJEES. Almost 18 mths o/s, pleasing head, ears a little low set, fine boned, not in her best coat but won the class easily. Moved out well.
2. Norman‘s TSARSKAYA KROV OLIVIA VICTORY OF ALEXIASDREAM (Imp Rus). 15 mths very pretty head though ears a bit on the big side. Good pigment, correct bone, feet could be tighter, useful size of bitch who moved well and showed with enthusiasm.
3. Sedykh‘s PRIDE OF POM COQUETTE KITTY CAT (Ukr).

YB (9,3)
1. Pickering‘s LEAHCARTOYS LADY PAULINE. 19 months litter sister to SYD and what a lovely pair they are, just the prettiest of heads, good stop and excellent pigment, true breed type. She stands so well making a lovely shape, she carries herself and moves with true Pom enthusiasm. A tad over-trimmed today, maybe she is starting to loose her coat.
2. Leighfield‘s BAROMAR ICE QUEEN. Nearly 2 years white, useful size, pleasing head, nose pigment could be better but eye rims OK. Profuse coat but lacking in texture. She moved with drive and covered the ground well, showed well for her handler.
3. Emelyanova‘s BRAVO’S CHESS QUEEN PARTI (USA).

PGB (15,3)
1. Barr‘s DEGSY STAR TURN. 5 years cream in full bloom and could not be denied her place in this class, the first four all being Scottish! A good size girl, I the “olden days” she would have been called a show/brood! She has a pleasing head and expression, good bone, in huge coat of good texture and with plenty finish of coat. She moved so well and showed her head off.
2. Wright‘s TOYBOX BABY BLONDE AT CORENKO Sh.CM. 2½ years, a much smaller orange in full bloom with finish of coat. Pretty head, ears hidden by her ruff, tail that comes right up almost to her head, making a pleasing outline. She moved with drive and is very sound in every respect.
3. Adamson‘s SYLVIDS HEATHER CREAM. 2½ years with a very attractive head and expression, good pigment. Not in her best party frock on the day.

LB (13,2)
1. Smith‘s TAA PATILIS UNDER A GLASS MOON AT SUEACRES JW. 18mths white, a good size, very pretty head with black eye rims and nose, neat ears surrounded by good head coat. She is well constructed and moves accordingly with drive and great enthusiasm at all times. I am sure her day will come, she has plenty of time.
2. Sealey‘s MEGATOY MOLLY MALONE. 19 mths with a very pretty head, good stop, small well-set ears. She was well presented with a good finish of coat (unlike her brother) and a tail right up to her head. Correct bone, she carries herself on the move, and pulls herself up in stance to make a lovely outline.
3. Pickering‘s LEAHCARTOYS LADY PAULINE.

OB (16,6)
1. Worthington‘s CH CABANA CARNIVAL AT NYELLASTOCK. Just over 4 years light orange and a good-sized girl. I awarded this bitch a CC 2 years ago and haven’t changed my opinion of her. However she was not in as good coat today as she was at Welsh Pom. Nonetheless she is a true champion, beautiful head and expression, blackest pigment, neat ears well set. She is well constructed and her movement shows this. Stands four square at all times and shows her socks off too! Her owner was delighted to be awarded the Bitch Reserve CC today.
2. Cawthera-Purdy‘s CH. LIREVA’S TO HELL AN BLACK JW. Just over 4 years and in the best of coats today, pleasing head, tiny ears set in her lovely jet black coat. Made a lovely shape in stance with her head back and tail almost touching. So sound once she puts her mind to the job in hand, well known for giving her handler a hard time. I know that one only too well!
3. Jacobsen‘s DKCH SOFFIES NO FACE (Dnk). Just over 4 years, this tiny girl has the most fabulous head and mouth, a pleasure to go over her. I absolutely love her but her owner/handler knows why she was not placed higher. She had almost no top coat at all, just undercoat like wire wool, a major “no-no” for me.
4. Pike’s CH BREEZELYN LOVE AT FIRST BITE.

GCB (3,1)
1. Hills‘ TRENARWYN TIGER HUSSY FOR SHARHAZLAH. Almost 4 years, bright orange, nice head, ears could be smaller, in good coat, moved and showed well.
2. Simmons‘ FLUFFY QUEEN BY PETITPOM. Orange 2½ years, foxier head, fine boned, showed well.
